Skylab almost there...again

Almost there... I can't seem to be satisfied with the final texture.

I will add a few details and highlights and will move on to the Agena Docking Target. Otherwise I won't finish this ever.

I have two nights to finish this.

Skylab progress

I am currently finishing the greyscale of the new texture.

It is taking quite a while but it is definetively worth it if you compare it to the texture I did as a test originaly and that had stayed for some time.

This will be the base for the coloring process.

Remodelling and Unwrapping Skylab completed

I have finally completed the geometry rework in the Skylab model.

Next will be to continue texturing which is always more fun.

I have a flat colour with panel lines version. I will have to add the line detail for the new geometry and then start adding the shadows and grime. Looking forward to it.

Skylab remodeling

After starting retexturing I am also remodeling a couple of sections of the skylab. I have tested the polycount with the MIR already so I am quite happy to add a few polys to this one.

I have added a few details to the cilindrical body and remodeled the whole antena section.

I am currently adding the structure bars that hold the whole thing in place.

A bit of extra work makes a massive difference.

Still working on MIR. The final color blocking is almost done. I will be adding all the little details next week.

I think it is looking quite good

Skylab update

The linework is looking OK. I am colouring the MIR by day and drawing the initial panel lines in the Skylab at night.

MIR colour texturing update

Colouring MIR after all the greyscale work felt like startiing from scratch once again but the new method is really quick and all I needed to do to advance was find the willpower to stop playing minecraft.
